Pop+Care: Healthcare made accessible

Pop+Care: Healthcare made accessible, attentive, efficient and respectful.

PopCare was trying to solve a pretty critical issue; healthcare. The big picture is how healthcare is handled, the process a patient has to go over every time they’re in need of healthcare.

The project started with a round of UX research, user interviews were conducted, with both patients and physicians to get both sides of the coin, resulting in a series of pain points associated with both giving and receiving the service. With these results a persona workshop was conducted, creating a couple of user personas to deliver solutions with them in mind.

The solution needed to: respect the user’s time, be as intuitive and easy as possible without losing the humane side. A doctor bot was created which took the user through a set of steps to first determine whether it was primary or urgent care. Based on the first criteria the patient would then be put in a virtual queue with an estimated time of appointment dependant of clinic chosen with the nearest appearing as suggested. In case of any delay the user would get a notification with the new estimated time for the appointment.

On the physician’s end all the information stored about a patient would be accessible if registered in PopCare, giving them access to all of the patient medical records and streamlining the data process.

What was the situation/problem?
PopCare needed a high-fidelity prototype created to do an initial round of funding.

How was the problem solved?
Through user research and workshops an interactive application was created, it’s main purposes were to determine the severity of the urgency, whether it be primary or urgent care to later create a digital queue, as well as a centralized database for physicians to access all of the patient’s medical record.

How did the design solution alleviate project oversight and save resources, time, and bandwidth?
Time was saved as feedback was given by potential users and investors thus avoiding a developmental process which would require an extensive amount of time and resources.
